(b. 1991, Estado De Mexico, Mexico) Omar Ibañez started his formation as a visual artist at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. A trained painter, the artist seeks to eliminate the limit between canvas and frame, which he achieves by deconstructing the two-dimensional canvas/frame and re-constructing it into three-dimensional geometric structures. Over time, his work has become fluid, his constructions becoming less geometrical and transforming more into immersions of the space around and inside it. Ibañez’s work has been exhibited in multiple solo exhibitions, including: RGR gallery, CDMX, Mexico (2021), StudioBlock M74, CDMX, Mexico (2019), and 8/4 Estudio, CDMX, Mexico (2016).
